World cinema feature films, The Cinema Hold Up, The Ways of Wine and Clash DVDs

All three films come to DVD for the very first time in the UK on 8 February 2016.

The Cinema Hold Up

Looking for excitement and purpose, four bored teenagers turn to crime in this gritty Mexican drama. When one suggests that they plan a robbery of the local cinema, all four are up for the challenge, but in turn jeopardising the one sure thing they have in life, their friendship.

An explosive dramatic comedy, The Cinema Hold Up (Alsalto Al Cine) is a lively, authentic, and excellently observed portrait of Mexico’s youth culture. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to glowing reviews and is the first feature from director Iria Gómez Concheiro (Women Interrupted).

The Ways of Wine

Real life Sommelier and wine expert Charlie Arturaola stars alongside consultant winemakers Michel Rolland, Susana Balbo and Jean Bousquet in The Ways of Wine (El Camino Del Vino), a hilarious story about a Sommelier who loses his palate at the glamorous ‘Masters of Food and Wine’ festival in Argentina. In the search of a solution, Charlie seeks help from some of the most important people of the wine world and begins a funny and touching wine tasting journey, from huge wineries to small vineyards, in order to recover his taste.

Beautifully shot and filmed in a mocumentary style, The Ways of Wine tells this poignant story with a perfect combination of drama and humour.

Inspired by true events, Clash (Engkwentro) tells the story of Richard and Raymond, two teenage brothers on opposite sides of a gang war in the Philippines. Richard is the leader of his gang, while Raymond has just being inducted into a rival gang, led by charming boy, Tomas. When Tomas gives Raymond the task of killing his older brother complications arise at a deadly midnight clash.

This fast-paced, gripping Filipino film noir is a dirty, gritty and realistic portrayal of the slums of Davao, and follows the two boys as they attempt to escape the city controlled by an iron-fisted mayor. They must first break away from the cycle of crime, while trying to run from rival gang leaders and the state's murderous vigilantes.
