Win tickets to see Birmingham National Ballet’s Carmina Burana at the London Coliseum
In David Bintley’s 20th anniversary year as Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, these performances are a celebration, combining Serenade, an early piece by one of Bintley’s heroes, George Balanchine, with the first ballet Bintley created for the company, the spectacular Carmina Burana.
In Carmina Burana, three seminarians are compelled by the goddess Fortuna to abandon their sacred studies to pursue a more sensual approach to life. Soon the young celebrants are soaring with passion, love and alcohol.
Carmina Burana is a thrilling, large-scale production, danced to Carl Orff’s dramatic and emotionally charged choral music. Bintley’s breathtaking choreography ensures an unforgettable experience that has been astonishing and delighting audiences for nearly 20 years.
